God's sovereign plan for eternity is given to us in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.
Here are two specific examples of planning from Scripture. In the Old Testament, the Lord gave Joshua the plan to conquer Jericho as Israel prepared to enter the promised land (Joshua 6:2-5). The remainder of Joshua 6 provides the details of the execution of God's plans.
In the New Testament, Jesus prepared his twelve disciples to proclaim the kingdom of God and perform healing in villages throughout Galilee (Luke 9:1-2). Then Jesus gave them the plans to achieve these tasks in Luke 9:3-5. The apostles departed to accomplish the plan (Luke 9:6). After they returned, the men provided Jesus with an assessment of their activities (Luke 9:10).
We would do well to follow these Scriptural examples to implement planning in our lives.
In particular, we can practice the skill of planning each week of the CC Challenge program.
