What is a Channeler?

A channeler is one who receives information from a reality other than the physical one.  The channeler’s information does not come from himself in any psychological or unconscious manner.  The messages are outside the channeler’s ordinary conscious or unconscious mental state.  The source is completely divorced from a physical level of reality.1

Former New Age leader, Randall Baer, expresses the true agenda of the channeled spirits.  He writes, “They come with an olive branch of peace, love, and universal brotherhood in one hand, and a smoking gun concealed behind their back in the other.”2  Although no one is able to identify the true identity of the spirits, multitudes fix their hopes on the messages of invisible speakers.  Some channelers use various contrived intonations of spirit voices to deceive their listeners, while others not only mutter and chirp as in ancient Babylon, but also write bestsellers and appear on numerous talk shows.

Channelers titillate their audiences with engaging tales of the spirit world. They offer closeness to the other side that listeners feel they can reach out and touch.  Channelers are readily available these days from all walks of life. Remarkably, many channelers never meet and yet the messages they receive are strikingly similar.  The “god” of the channelers is not the God of the Bible and the true God is held up to contempt.  The channeled “god” makes no judgments and leaves man free to do what feels good.  The high involved in channeling is intoxicating, however, the buzz will end for many all too late as they are driven screaming into the abyss.
